Temporary exhibition "L'Archéologie à Grande Vitesse"

From April the 14th until November the 30th

With its 302 kilometres and an area more than 3.500 hectares, the delineation of the South Atlantic High Speed Line was an exceptional occasion for archaeologists to complete the knowledges  about the occupation of these territories from Prehistory until nowadays. Digs operations unfolded from 2009 to 2013, in two regions, Centre and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and six counties: Indre-et-Loire, Vienne, Deux-Sèvres, Charente, Charente-Maritime and Gironde. The exhibition, which presents an overview of the excavations results, is a presentation of 400.000-year history, between Tours and Bordeaux…

The exhibition has been initiated by LISEA and SNCF RESEAU. After a first step in Aquitaine museum of Bordeaux until Febuary 2018, it takes place at the Prehistory museum of Le Grand-Pressigny from the 14th of April until the 30th of November 2018. Then, this travelling exhibition will be offer at Sainte-Croix museum of Poitiers and Angoulême museum.

This exhibition is recognised by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication as being of national interest.

For this reason, it has a financial support from the State.
