At 3.00PM: guided tour of the temporary exhibition "L'archéologie à Grande Vitesse" (duration: 1 hour)

On Saturday the 16th
Entrance fees of the museum: €6 (full price), €5 (reduced prices), free for children under 7. Details here.

At 11.00AM: come and experience the technics of archaeological excavations and discover the artefacts and structures of a prehistorical encampment. Could you interpret the remains as an archaeologist?

At 3.00PM: Fire demonstration, prehistorical technics
              Come and discover two prehistorical technics about fire lighting confirmed in Europe by archaeology

At 3.30PM and 4.30PM (duration: 30 min): conferences by the archaeologists in charge of the excavations presented in the exhibition L'archéologie à Grance Vitesse

With its 302 kilometres and an area more than 3.500 hectares, the delineation of the South Atlantic High Speed Line was an exceptional occasion for archaeologists to complete the knowledges  about the occupation of these territories from Prehistory until nowadays. Digs operations unfolded from 2009 to 2013, in two regions, Centre and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and six counties: Indre-et-Loire, Vienne, Deux-Sèvres, Charente, Charente-Maritime and Gironde. The exhibition, which presents an overview of the excavations results, is a presentation of 400.000-year history, between Tours and Bordeaux…
